ThinkSono DVT detection software results are published in Nature digital medicine
ThinkSono, the London-based start-up, develops the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm with the aim of diagnosing a deadly disease called Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) more quickly and as effectively as traditional radiologist-interpreted diagnostic scans, potentially cutting down long patient waiting lists and avoiding patients unnecessarily receiving drugs to treat DVT when they don't have it.
The company has recently achieved a significant stage in the development of its service, bringing it closer to the monetization phase: a close collaboration with Oxford University, Imperial College, and the University of Sheffield has demonstrated the efficiency of ThinkSono’s detection algorithm. The study's results have been published in the prestigious science journal Nature and have confirmed that using the algorithm could potentially save health services $150 per examination, having in mind that hundreds of millions of DVT-related medical visits occur every year…a game changer!
We can’t wait to see where it goes next from here!
